Michael Stelzner, founder of the Social Media Examiner, an online PR tool presents this years (2011) social media marketing report. His team conducted research with the aim of revealing ‘who, what, where, when and why’ aspects of social media marketing. More than 3300 marketers were examined in relation to the type of social media tools they use and their future plans on the same which resulted in a comprehensive 41 page report.

According to the report, more social media marketers want to know how to monitor and measure their return on investment (ROI) on social media. The report also reveals that more marketers plan to maximise on the use of YouTube and videos in the future.
The main advantages cited on the use of social media by businesses include increased exposure, more consumer traffic and improved search rankings.
